i have recovered from my aforementioned sickness only to fall to a greater ailment. you see, i hurt my back at work like a month and a half ago. because i've been working full-time, i haven't really had any chance to properly heal from it. it's just been getting worse and worse as i continue to re-injure it. which leads me to today! i am currently in the emergency room at the hospital to have my back get x-rayed. i've already been in the waiting room for about an hour and the wait time on the display has only increased... it's 9:55 AM. i will probably continue to update here as i wait.

update: it's 11:17 and i'm still waiting, but in a *different* room now. yay!

update again: now it's 1:47 PM and i'm finally free. that was a nightmare and i never want to go to the ER again. i have been prescribed two medications that will hopefully help. grahh!!!!!!! (again)

i fear it's true. indeed, i have been sick with a cold for the past few days. this is my third day off work and i'm starting to LOSE MY MARBLES a bit!! my handsome and brave man has still been working so i have been basically alone in our place for the entire daytime. to pass the time, i did a bunch of work on this site, listened to some new albums and played a bunch of stardew valley. unfortunately, though, these things can only hold my attention for so long. what's a girl to do?

last weekend i played another show with my band which went pretty great. i think i'm starting to get the hang of the whole live music thing! i've had the urge to work on some more music as drumloopjunkie as well, but don't quite know where to start. i don't have any tracks on the backburner, so it would be entirely from scratch. i want to create stuff but just don't know what yet!! grahhh!!

i usually don't write about much super personal stuff here but something really amazing has happened recently in my life! :) two days ago, on july 12, 2026, my wonderful boyfriend (now fiancé!!) proposed to me!! the whole day was so perfect, and he completely caught me off guard with the proposal (in a good way). he did it at the same spot that he asked me to officially be his girlfriend exactly a year ago. our mutual friend was there too and we had such a nice time! we went to the art gallery and ate chinese food and walked around the water. it was one of the happiest days of my entire life and i just had to write about it here. i am so lucky to have such an amazing partner. we aren't playing to get married anytime soon (or perhaps ever since legal marriage is expensive and complicated) but the symbolism of his proposal means so much to me. i'm so happy to belong to him.

in completely separate news, i did also play another show with my band on july 4th! it went extremely well. we debuted a new song which fucking rocked even though i messed up a bit since i barely had time to practice (a full-time job will do that). we're playing more shows throughout the summer which i'm really looking forward to. i've become much more confident as a bassist since i joined, and i am very proud of my progress...

work has been totally crazy and really wearing me out. i have a terrible tanline from being in the sun every day. working with young kids is both very rewarding and very exhausting. i'm enjoying it a lot, although i really do not think i could be an elementary school teacher; working with kids is just too much effort for admittedly not nearly enough pay.

this is getting to be a longer post so i'll cut it off here. but i want to say thank you for anyone who reads these. it means a lot to me! i'm so happy to share my life with you, especially such important moments like my engagement. i love you all ♡

i'm not dead !! but remember how i said i've "been quite busy" in the last entry? well that was NOTHING compared to how busy i've been this past week and a half. you see, i've started my summer job now and there is a huge amount of training. as of today, i am finally done said training but i will still be very busy moving forward as i work full-time until september. so erm... entries here will probably continue to be infrequent! >_<

my first show with my band went really well!! playing bass live is super fun. it was a really good first experience for me.

to be honest, i don't have much else to update on. i'm just very sunburnt from working outside and physically exhausted from running around. i miss writing updates here!!

hello again! it's been a little bit since my last entry here. that's because i have been quite busy.

for one, i have been practicing a whole lot with my band and we are playing a show TOMORROW!! i'm nervous but excited for that since i've never played on stage before. i hope it goes well :3

i also released that single that i was talking about before! it's a cover of the elliott smith song "ballad of big nothing" ... i posted it on youtube and my bandcamp. i didn't post the single to streaming services because i am too broke to pay the licensing fees. though, for some reason it's kind of popping off on youtube with about 500 views, which i wasn't expecting. yay! i'll remember you all when i'm famous.

i've been up to a buncha other stuff, too. going to events, gardening, school work, etc. needless to say, i'm pretty tired. but i'm enjoying myself! :)

i'm so tiredddd,,, oughhhh,,, for some reason i was so restless last night and only got 2 hours of sleep. i feel like a zombie today!

the band is going great though!! i am Officially, For Real a part of the group now. we've been practicing each day this week and locking in for an upcoming show in june. it feels really nice to play music with people that i get along with well. so yay!!

it feels crazy that it's already been nearly a month since i released my album. thank you so much to everyone who has enjoyed it and extra super duper thank you to everyone who bought it :) it feels so special to see people listening and telling me their favourite tracks.

i still have no idea what direction i want to go with my next solo project, honestly. but it has been on my mind! i'm thinking that, since i put a lot of time and effort into "perfecting" ephemeral music, i may ease up on whatever i do next. perhaps something more light-hearted, or just a bit more unpolished? there's also a cover song i've been sitting with for a while that i'm considering releasing... i was originally gonna release it at the same time as ephemeral music, but decided against it. so maybe now would be a good time since some time has passed!

apart from that, my life hasn't been too interesting. my mood has been up and down, but seems to be mellowing out a bit now... i think i've just been stressed about finding my work-life-everything-else balance. still feeling very burnt out with school work since i'm currently taking two summer courses, but thankfully i am enjoying the material :P in a month or so i'll be starting my summer job which will be a very welcome change of pace.

in the free time that i do have i've been playing a lot of cities skylines. that game makes me brain feel good. my esteemed city of "junkyville" has been thriving! i've also been practicing in a band that i'm kinda-sorta a part of now. when i'm officially in the band, i'll update about it here!! i play bass and have been enjoying it.

this morning on my walk to campus a fox ran by right in front of me!! it was holding a dead rabbit (or maybe a squirrel?) in its mouth. i dont know if this symbolizes good luck or bad luck, but it was pretty cool to see it either way. very cute, and not something i see everyday :)

also, i am soooo sleepy. like totally exhausted. i'm not sure why, but my energy has been super low this past week. it sucks!! i'm really excited to sleep tonight,,, may also take a nap later. much to consider. that's all for now!

I'M BLUE!! my lovely boyfriend helped me by dyeing my hair the other night ^_^ i keep forgetting that it's different so when i look in the mirror it shocks me each time. but i really really like how the colour turned out. i've attached an ultra-hd image here ------>

i really haven't been up to much else... last night we were working on our garden outside. i spent a lot of time repotting plants!! i've also been playing a whole lot of skyrim, hence the title of this entry. i played it in my childhood on my family's old ps3 but never got to beat it since it got too laggy. i've been really enjoying playing through it again.

i caved. for months now i've debated whether i should re-dye my hair like i had it last summer. but i have just now purchased some dark blue hair dye that arrives tomorrow! i am excited to be blue again... it'll be interesting since my hair is so much longer than it was before. more hair = more blueness!!

also, i woke up with the gummy bear song stuck in my head (likely because i bought some yesterday). a deeply unfortunate way to start my day.

last night i was messing around with using a tape recorder as a microphone and it turned out kinda cool! i made a video showing it off. i want to try recording with it properly at some point and maybe use it for a song. it has a really cool warbly sound to it.

the day before that, my bf and i went to some yard sales. i ended up finding some blank cassettes there which is what inspired my experiment. i also bought a couple random cds and a fIREHOSE album on vinyl, which i was definitely not expecting to pick up.

im hoping to make a habit of journaling here to keep track of what i've been working on creatively. i'm not quite sure what my next musical project will be since i just released an album i've been working on for aaaages. this is the exciting but scary part where i get to do anything i want!! i will keep you posted... ^_^
